Toyota Corolla 2010 is a car with two different personalities, there is a model taking into account the buyer's financial and XRS Corolla sporty for them after a bit of talent and have a heavy bag. Comparing the two models with their main rival, Honda Civic, Corolla fell slightly in performance and model. The XRS do a better job, especially in terms of power and handling, but lost the price competition.
While the current Corolla is much more interesting than the previous generation, one of the biggest weaknesses of the car remains its inability to stimulate the visual senses. Corolla sporty and lack of modern Panache many of its competitors, but this may be ideal for those who do not want to stand out from the crowd.
2010 Toyota Corolla, the better equipped LE and XLE editions continue in 2010 with a standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder 132 horsepower and 128 plants growing pound-feet of torque. Compared with the Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cobalt, Toyota was slightly down on power, but good fuel for the standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic is impressive, with EPA rating of 27 mpg city, 35 highway. Honda Civic, by comparison, up to 26 mpg city, 34 highway.
Upgrade to premium XRS model and you get a 2.4-liter four-Banger with 158 horsepower on tap. This machine is happy to rev, and a sweet shift six-speed automatic available as an option. When matched with the standard five-speed manual, Corolla XRS will sprint 0-60 mph in about eight seconds, not exactly brilliant performance but it was enough to increase heart rate. Fuel hardly impressive, at 22/30 mpg.
Toyota Corolla 2010 is supported with a full-featured independent suspension system, 1.8-liter engine, the performance remained dull. Moved up to the Corolla XRS adds rear disc brakes and a more standard, but the electric power steering still lacks adequate feedback.
Safety Corolla is designed quite well, with anti-lock brakes, tire-pressure monitor, active headrests, and front, side and curtain airbags all standard. Stability and traction control now standard on the range, too.
Toyota Corolla 2010 is also equipped with standard air conditioning, a tilt / telescoping steering wheel, and CD player. Optional features include a navigation system and XM Satellite Radio, a rare feature in this segment. There is no price increase for the model Corolla 2010, although the addition of electronic stability and traction control as standard on the range. Price set at $ 15,350 for a standard sedan with five-speed transmission and up to $ 20,050 for the sporty XRS with a five-speed automatic transmission.
